Well, I should have stopped by Target a little earlier. By the time I got there, around 9 am, it was horribly crowded. After a while, I found a parking spot. The Leapster 2 games were half off -- I had to try. Armed with a shopping bag, I was glad I didn't need a cart... there weren't any left. It would have been difficult to navigate the store pushing a cart anyway.
The line to checkout went past the $1 items, through juniors and past the purses, belts and socks. Then it turned past menswear and ended somewhere in toys (I think). At that point it seemed to meet up with another line that was wrapped from the other side of the store.
I couldn't do it. Empty-handed, except for a rain check on the Frog Princess Leapster 2 game, I left the store.
I should have checked the Leapster 2 website. They had a great sale on Cyber Monday, which they even extended. Makes me rethink the Didj. What price!
Gifts Kids Love. Sharing my story as year to year I prowl Black Friday sales searching for the perfect Christmas gifts that will make everyone feel loved and impressed without putting myself into debt, because... that's just wrong.

Target wins "Best Black Friday Ad of 2009"
Target's new Black Friday ads look like Target Black Friday is going to be a good one. Wait a minute, I just realized that I know who's going to be there -- that blonde lady who's climbing the ladder... but I have no idea what's on sale. Okay, they were successful. The mini-drama of the two sisters trash talking each other that they are going to outdo one another at the Target black friday sale is totally effective. I was actually wanting to be there even though I have no idea what will be on sale. Kudos to target's advertising team. I'm not there yet... but I wanted to be. I won't plan my itinerary until I've seen all of the Black Friday ads and have decided what we can't live without.
